A magnificent necklace comprising seven rows (saath larh) of graded natural Bahrain / Basra pearls with a gold clasp set with rubies, emeralds and diamonds.
The pearls that make up this necklace all display a wonderful lustre, brilliance and glow. Such necklaces were the ultimate symbol of royalty in India.
Portraits of princes and princesses almost always featured multi-strand pearl necklaces.
