Pair of Bangles
Deccan, South India - 18th century
A pair of broad centre bracelets (kangni patri) in the form of bangles is decorated in front with
kundan set table cut diamonds (parab) in a simple design. These elegant ornaments were
undoubtedly made for everyday wear for royal ladies. Despite their period they hold a
contemporary charm. Similar examples of a later date are in the Nizam of Hyderabad's
Supplemental Jewellery Trust.
